ANNOUNCEMENT: OCT 12th FUNDRAISER POSTPONED UNTIL SPRING 2014
Hello everyone. It is with mixed feelings that we are announcing that our fundraiser party on October 12, 2013 must be postponed until next Spring. We are disappointed it won't be happening this October, but we are excited to be able to put together a bigger, better party for the entire family that will be held this coming Spring.
We must postpone for two main reasons:
1. We have not received enough RSVPs and have not sold enough tickets. We blame ourselves for having a Facebook e-vite instead of mailing physical invitations to people. Lesson learned!
2. We would prefer to have the fundraiser party during nicer weather, where we can utilize the outdoor space and have some fun for the entire family.
WE ARE STILL WALKING FOR THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY ON OCTOBER 26TH!
To find out more about "The Holleger Kids Team", or to make a donation, please visit OUR RACE PAGE.
We will be contacting those individuals who have made donations already, and make arrangements for those donations to either be returned or go towards our race team. All those who have made donations will have free ticket(s) waiting for them for the Spring 2014 party! Thank you for your support and generosity. And we apologize if this has caused you any inconvenience.
With love from,
The Holleger Kids

GARDEN OF HOPE
IN MEMORY/IN HONOR OF SIGNS:
"On Saturday, October 26th at Norristown Farm Park, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer will remember and honor loved ones through the Garden of Hope. A special area will be lined with Pink Ribbon Tribute signs to honor those who survived breast cancer or in memory of those who did not. The honorees names are prominently displayed on the tribute signs. As participants walk the course, the signs remind and inspire them that the fight against cancer is about real people in our community. Pink Ribbon Tribute signs are a suggested donation of $15 for each individual honored. We invite you to be a part of the fight against breast cancer within our community. Click on the Garden of Hope Tribute Signs Registration Form to print the form to honor each friend and loved one who has faced breast cancer. Your contributions will make a difference and save lives!
Sincerely,
Beth Gwynn

The Holleger Kids team raised $100 for the walk this year. Thank you to all who donated!
We purposefully did not do extensive fundraising efforts for this particular walk because we are planning another annual event that will take place in October, and that will be our big fundraiser for the year. Stay tuned for some exciting announcements regarding this event!

Beth and Mary were privileged to be volunteers at this fundraiser, and honored to meet other volunteers who had a special connection with breast cancer as well. One of our co-volunteers was Liz Barker, breast cancer survivor and author, who blogged about the event here.

OCTOBER 26th, Cupcake Baking
by The Holleger Kids
for Montgomery Home Care and Hospice in Norristown, PA
by The Holleger Kids
for Montgomery Home Care and Hospice in Norristown, PA
As a special thank you to the hospice center that took care of not only our mom but also our entire family during her last few months battling inflammatory breast cancer, Beth and Mary baked five dozen cupcakes to give to Montgomery Home Care and Hospice of Norristown, PA, and decorated them with breast cancer ribbons. The nurses and staff there were so happy to see us, and we even got a chance to see some of the individual nurses who took care of our mom. Hospice workers have an especially hard job, and we wanted them to know that they are appreciated, and that they are a vital source of support for families who have a loved one with a terminal illness.
